Visitor regulations

Article 1

The Event starts on Wednesday 5 July 2023 and ends on Sunday 15 July 2023 ("the Event”). 
The organization of Gent Jazz ("the Organization”) reserves the right to refuse access to the Event if the Visitor is not in possession of a valid ticket and/or valid admission tape.

Article 2

Everyone who enters the event grounds declares to agree with these visitor regulations and considers himself bound by them. Access to the event site may be denied to those visitors who do not comply with the present regulations.

Every visitor is additionally bound by all directives given by the organization in the context of safety and for the prevention of nuisance.

Article 3

Each person entering the event site must be in possession of a valid admission ticket. The organization reserves the right to remove from the event site any visitor not in possession of such a bracelet.

Article 4

Each person entering the event site does so at his/her own risk. The organization is not liable for any loss or damage suffered by the visitor and/or his/her property.

Article 5

The following objects are forbidden on the event site: - liquids; - dangerous objects, such as an umbrella, knife, scissors, razor, sticks, chain, saw, etc. This list is not exhaustive and includes all objects considered dangerous by the security services; - personal drinks or meals; - animals, with the exception of guide dogs; - drugs or other forbidden (stimulant) substances; - glass; - projectiles and explosives, regardless of their appearance; - inflammable products or materials; - pyrotechnic products (e.g. Bengal fire). Smoking is not permitted in the concert tent.

The use of professional photographic, film and or sound equipment is not allowed.

Article 6

The organization reserves the right to - to search visitors in a non-systematic way; - to search handbags and other bags of visitors; - to confiscate prohibited items, listed in article 2; - to carry out an electronic surveillance of the area assigned to them by means of cameras that follow and record the movements of visitors; - to change the programming; - to tow away wrongly parked cars and this at the expense of the owner of the car.

The Organization also reserves the right to interrupt or stop the Event, if required for security reasons; to keep the visitors on the festival grounds until the end of the Event;

Article 7

The Organization also reserves the right to deny entry to or remove from the Event any person - suspected of being in possession of weapons, drugs or any other object that poses a threat to security; - who is under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs; - whose behavior leads one to suppose that he/she is engaged in drug trafficking or who has been found in the past in possession of weapons or drugs on the premises or in its vicinity; - who causes or has caused serious difficulties in the past on the premises or in the vicinity thereof; - who displays behavior that disturbs public order and/or public safety, that leads to sexual harassment, that provokes, incites to violence, hatred, racism, discrimination, etc…. - who would refuse a possible search by the security services; - who enters areas on the festival site, to which he/she does not have access; - who blocks entrances and exits; - who urinates or defecates in public; - who climbs, damages or destroys constructions on the festival site; - who throws or shoots objects, regardless of the nature of the objects; - who disguises himself/herself in such a way that he/she is no longer recognizable and also does not make himself/herself known at the request of the Organization. - to refuse persons with large handbags or backpacks;

Article 8

Visitors who are removed from the event site are obliged to hand over their admission ticket to the Organization and in no case have the right to re-enter the event site.

Article 9

It is strictly forbidden for -16 year olds to order alcohol and for -18 year olds to order alcoholic beverages other than beer and wine. The bar staff and table service staff have the right, in case of doubt, to ask for proof of identity from the visitor in order to verify whether he/she meets the age limit.

Article 10

All visitors are asked to handle their waste with care and to deposit it in the receptacles provided for this purpose. The points where waste can be disposed of are visibly indicated at the Event, please make use of them.

Article 11

It is strictly forbidden to hand out flyers or any other promotional material to the visitors on the event site, if one has not obtained permission to do so from the Organization. If you wish to promote, please contact the Organization. Any person handing out flyers or any other promotional material without the permission of the Organization will be removed from the event site. In addition, the Community Guard will immediately be notified, in order to establish a GAS fine.

Article 12

The event site is subject to camera surveillance in accordance with the law of 21/03/2007. In accordance with the law of 8 December 1992 on "The protection of privacy in relation to the processing of personal data”, as amended by the law of 1 December 1998 transposing Directive 95/46/EC of 24 October 1995 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, the visitor is informed that the Organisation has the right to make visual and sound recordings and photographs throughout the duration of the Event. These recordings may be used for promotional purposes. Upon entering the Event grounds, all visitors give their tacit approval for the making of the above recordings and photographs and that the Organization may use this image and sound material for promotional purposes and broadcast.

The recording and storage of the sound recordings and visual material by the police and/or the Organization has, among other things, the purpose of maintaining and enforcing security at the event site. The processing of this information has the purpose of detecting and preventing crimes and violations of the current regulations and thus facilitating the identification of perpetrators. Upon entering the grounds, the visitor automatically relinquishes all rights for the use of the images and/or sound recordings made by him/her.

Article 13

In the event that a crime is observed, the police services will always be informed.
