“There are plenty of blues musicians,” according to a Radio 1 host, “but few are capable of playing blues in such a unique, credible and authentic way as Tiny Legs Tim.” It doesn’t get any better than that, just like with Tim’s recent album Elsewhere Bound. Yes, another blues record, but one with a lot of jazz influences. “In recent years, I’ve started to listen more to jazz”, Tim De Graeve (the Tiny Legs in question) told the Belgian magazine Humo. He added that he even travelled to New Orleans because of it. “And I don’t regret it at all either, because the brass bands over there were fantastic. The power, the passion with which those musicians play their instruments, you hardly ever get to hear that here.” Hardly ever! Because at Gent Jazz Festival, De Graeve and his troops will undoubtedly have a go at it!
