For those who still do not fully get it that Compro Oro is the most exotic Belgian jazz band of the millennium, the band have simply called their latest album Suburban Exotica. Meant for the hard of hearing then. Although you really have to pack your ears full of cotton to not detect the Latin-American influences on their debut album Transatlantic, the ethnic and psychedelic sounds on their equally excellent EP Bombarda, and the way in which they combine all of the foregoing and mix them with African and Middle Eastern sounds and instruments on Suburban Exotica. Add to that a guest contribution from Joachim Cooder (son of), not to mention the production work of Dijf Sanders and … did we already mention that Compro Oro is the most exotic Belgian jazz band of the millennium?
