WHAT BRINGS THE LAST DAY OF GENT JAZZ FESTIVAL?
ICH GEHE JETZT...
…to watch the German Einstürzende Neubauten, and you’re absolutely right to do so. These guys giving us an uninhibited performance of their very best songs, reminding us that experimenting with scrap can sound lovely too. Speaking of sounds, none other than David Lynch said the following about his muse, Chrysta Bell: “She’s not only a killer performer; she also has a great intuitive ability to catch a mood and find a melody that’s really spectacular.” Need we say any more? Plus, you can twist up your tongue and butt heads with each other thanks to Hypochristmutreefuzz; we’ve heard that their live performances are incredibly strong. Lastly, we’ll be taking a little trip back to the 90s with Archive. And no, you don’t have to wave your hands in the air like you just don’t care, but we won’t stop you from doing it, either.
We’ll be celebrating Die Anarchistische Abendunterhaltung’s anniversary at least three times on the Garden Stage; you can call them DAAU since that’s probably easier. They’re now 25 years old and want to celebrate this special anniversary together with you, with the presentation of a brand-new album if they can. Later, you can still get fired up by the Scandinavian trio FIRE!. We’ll leave it to you to figure out all the sayings and old adages about fire and explosions, but we can promise that it’ll be a fantastic close to the 2017 Gent Jazz Festival!
