Belgium is overflowing with talent, not only in the jazz scene. What once started as hip hop parties in 2005, All Eyes On Hip Hop has become a collective that curates entire concert evenings. Which is exactly what they did on our Garden Stage: Darrell Cole, K1D and Dvtch Nobrris light up the stage and then join TheColorGrey for what will undoubtedly be the most explosive closing concert ever at Gent Jazz Festival. Do. Not. Miss. This.
No doubt that these up-and-coming hip hoppers were influenced by the absolute legends that are The Roots, our headliner of the evening. Other Belgian pride Selah Sue is bringing the 2.0 version of herself and sounds more genuine and inspired than ever. Blackwave. might be a bunch of Belgians too, but they feel like world citizens. Anyone who can make hip hop this popular in our country deserves that title anyway. Transatlantically, Moonchild flies in and will open the Main Stage with their dreamy neo-soul.
