Vincent Peirani & Émile Parisien

Vincent Peirani (accordion), Emile Parisien (sax)

The musical duo Emile Parisien & Vincent Peirani unite rhythmic and free-flowing accordion with the sultry sounds of the saxophone. Both are considered to be pioneers in a formidable generation of French jazz musicians. These two gentlemen first combined their talents in 2014 with the album Belle Epoque, an homage to renowned soprano sax player Sidney Bechet that combines the best of both worlds: instrumental innovation and attention to the French accordion tradition. You can consider it to be a nod towards Richard Galliano and Jean-Louis Matinier. Vincent Peirani first hit the scene together with singer Youn Sun Nah’s band. After that, he dabbled in various genres, ranging from tango to classical and even a bit of metal, but in collaborating with Parisien, the duo has resolutely opted for a combination of chamber music and jazz.
